I've been digging up old recordings, and found some really cool stuff. I can't wait to make a comp. Since I have the day off I think I'm going to lay down some vocals on some old and new songs.

The new year has started, a chance for new beginings, a time to put old ghosts to rest. I am looking forward to new experiences, new challanges, and making it through another year. My best and warmest wishes to all the people I've known, to my friends & loved ones, and to all the people I haven't met yet.
Resolution - to look for the best.... in all people, in all aspects of life, and in myself.
happy belated new year- amanda

Hey there, just got done posting some nice things about [DARYL] on thier messageboard. They are having a show at The DoubleWide in Dallas on the 15th (this saturday). I just might be there. Check the [D] site (message board) for info.
As for me I'm hangin' at the casa, and thinking about needing a band. Just some people to jam with on a regular basis would be nice.

good morning.... i guess. Is it good, and if it is, what exactly makes it good?
Sometimes I wish I had a private journal... but there is no such thing. If I had a private journal someone would read it. That is why I am so glad I have my music... it is my only true outlet. Something no one can touch or see. Something purely from my own confused, crazy, and creative mind.

Good morning, and such. It is the most beautiful morning, well at least where I'm at. The golden sun shining, cool clean air, gentle breeze, leaves turning & falling all around. The squirrels are playful & getting themselves prepared for winter. This is exactly the kind of day you pack up your things & go on a camping trip. I need to be with nature. I'd like to go out camping and spend three days in the woods, just me, the animals, the bugs, pencil and paper, and my guitar.

What a morning..... 4am a crazy loud noise wakes up the whole house.... then silence and a tiny meow. The new kittens are here. So I got up totally tired to search the place and find out where the noise is comming from... I go upstaris & find a tiny newborn kitten on the 14th step. I almost stepped on it, but I picked it up & resumed my search. I couldn't find mama cat, and the little baby was cold. I went into Madi's room and was looking around, and she woke up too. Soon we found the mama cat in a dark corner, and put the kitten down by her. Moments later the rest of the litter came, a total of 3 kittens. At about 5:30 am we all hopped into the car to have breakfast at the Waffle House, where some old men made fun of Chris. We watched the sunrise as we drove back to the house. By this time it was 6'ish. Chris went back to sleep and I got Madi ready for school. 7:45am the phone rings, it's Janet saying good morning & we are out the door and off to school. We get there a little early and wait in the cafeteria until the bell rings, then I take Madi to her room and talk with Mrs. Thompson (her teacher), we reschedual a conference for 7:45 am tomorrow morning. And here I am, writting to noone in particular about my morning.

Now it 's time for me to wash my uniform & begin getting ready for work.... ahhhh sleep will be good tonight!

This is what I call a modern 40's look.
For this look you will need : a comb, 1 rubber band, 3 bobby pins, curling iron or a few sponge rollers.

1. Part hair in middle
2. Section front part of hair. I make a part from the middle part down to the ear.
3. Twist hair until tight, wrap it like a bun, and pin it. (leave a few whisps of hair in front and sides for a softer look)
4. Do the same on the other side.
5. Pull remaining hair into a pony tail.
6. Curl dry hair with a curling iron or roll damp hair in sponge rollers.
7. Take a small chunk of hair from the underside of ponytail twist & wrap around ponytail holder, pin it.
8. Finish off the look with your favorite hair decor.

*HOW TO MAKE FLOWER PINS
Items needed: 2 bobbypins, 2 silk flowers
Push bobbypin into the part of silk flower that connects to the fake plant.
Add a little super glue into flower to secure it, let it dry before trying it on.
This is so easy, and cheap, but does not work with all silk flowers. I suggest taking a bobby pin to garden ridge or your fav place & taking silk flowers off fake plants & trying them on your pin.

I took Madi to her first skating party monday night, we had lots of fun, even though I fell and busted a blood vessel in my right hand. It really doesn't hurt, but my body is still sore after 2 days. Madi is a great skater! It didn't take her long to get the hang of it, but she did fall & bust her butt a few times. All in all it was a blast, I had forgotten how fun it is to skate.

wow is this a beautiful day or what? This morning Madison & I went for a walk/bike ride. Along the way we stopped by her school & played on the playground, and then headed to the corner store to buy a drink. After we rehydrated ourselves we went on a nature hike. We hardly broke a sweat. After our exploration we went back to the house and had a picnic in the shade. Then we played in the water & relaxed outdoors for a few hours. Now it's time to get some housework done & update a little. What a great & wonderful day... enjoy it!

Posted by Amanda : Friday, September 05, 2003, 7:24 AM

aahhhh friday... what a relief! I am looking forward to having some days off. I am imagining all the fun & relaxing things I will be doing this weekend. I just rediscovered how much I love Duke Ellington. So I am imagining myself relaxing by the pool ( if it is warm enough), listening to Duke, sipping on some sort of cold drink. Ahhhh sounds good huh?

I spoke too soon... now I feel the sickness comming. It starts right in the spot where the nose & throat connect. Ugghhhh GERMS!!!!

Posted by Amanda : Thursday, September 04, 2003, 7:10 PM

the time on my blog is wrong.... my clock says it's 8:42 am. hmmmmmmmm

Posted by Amanda : , 8:47 AM

*yawn* I like being the only one awake in the morning... it is so relaxing it makes me want to go back to sleep. Chris & Madison are sick with what seems to be a cold. I haven't gotten it...... yet.

So now I have learned all the modes and am currently learning more about triads and chord construction. It's nice to realize how much I already knew, and to finnally know the correct chord names. For example, instead of saying...."you know, that B chord?!?" I know it is a Bm7. I still have a long way to go, but I am enjoying every minute of it!

How can people stand to work 5 or more days in a row without a day off inbetween? Now I know why people go crazy. I'm going on day 4 & I wish I hadn't messed with my schedual. I miss being off work on wednesday, friday, and sat. Blah I'll quit bitching & hope someone will pick up my shift today! see ya later

Uggghhh! I HATE WORK! Thank goodness I'm home now.

Posted by Amanda : Wednesday, September 03, 2003, 2:52 PM

it's a sleepy morning.

Posted by Amanda : , 7:08 AM

I'm so excited about learning guitar theory. I am only breaking the ice on it. Learning the modes is a good way to start. I have learned Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, and today I start practicing Aeolian. I impress myself with how quickly I am learning. Chris is very proud. It's going to be great when I can sit in with the big boys & totally blow them away!
